Class Supply List 2024


Snow Goose Class Supply List 


Each class will require a sewing machine and basic sewing supplies (things you normally sew with).  We will have cutting mats, ironing boards, and irons available.

Please bring fabric already cut and ready to sew. Each list of supplies also includes cutting instructions.

Thursday, February 22nd 

3pm-6pm Singing the Blues Quilt class taught by Kalynn Fail, class fee $20

This pattern was a tutorial found online(Kalynn created the pattern from a tutorial & she will have copies available at class for $1.00)

Materials needed:

3 charm packs (5” squares)

OR

15 – 18 assorted 5” x WOF strips

7 yards background fabric

1 yard binding fabric

8 yards backing fabric

Tri-Recs Ruler

Cutting Instructions:

Cut the following background pieces:

Cut 4 strips of 5” x WOF of your background fabric and set aside.

(These will be used to make your triangle in a square pieces.)

Piece A: Cut 9 strips 14” x WOF 

Sub-Cut into 5” strips making 72 rectangles 5” x 14”

Piece B: Cut 2 strips 23” x WOF

Sub-Cut into 5” strips making 12 rectangles 5” x 23”

(there will be 16 pieces – extra 4 will be used to cut Piece D)

Piece C: Cut 4 strips 5” x WOF

Sub-Cut into 32 squares 5” x 5”

Piece D: Using 4 leftover strips from Piece B 

Sub-Cut 8 pieces 5” by 9.5”

Soft and Stable Foam Stabilizer (byannie.com) 36” x 58”
30 assorted 5” squares – (grab a charm pack)
1 ½ yard coordinating fabric (for the bag bottom, lining, handles & ties)
¼ yard fusible fleece (for handles)
Great to have for making this bag: (but not necessary)
5” square ruler
6” x 24” ruler
Walking foot
Large safety pins
Taylors Chalk
Cutting Instructions:
Cut or choose 30 assorted 5” squares for bag body
Coordinating fabric
Cut (2) 5” x 23” strips for the bag bottom
Cut (2) 5” x WOF strips: sub-cut (4) 5” x 20” strips for bows
Cut (1) 4” x WOF strip; sub-cut (2) 4” x 20” strips for handles
Reserve remaining fabric for lining.
Fusible Fleece
Cut (2) 3” x 20” strips for handles
Soft and Stable
Cut (2) 20” x 25” pieces (I cut mine about an inch larger and then 
trimmed it after I quilted it)

Color 1 Dark should like its a two color 1 light fabrics on top of each other (mine is light red and dark red) Same with color 2 Dark and light (mine is blue).The blender fabric should look like color 1 and Color 2 blended together (mine is a dark navy)." -Bonnie of Pie Plate Patterns

    • 30 – 10 inch squares (1 layer cake or 2 1/4 yards)
    • 120 – 3 inch squares (1 layer cake, you’ll need at least 13 squares or more depending on how you mix up the colors or about 7/8 of a yard)
  • Twin:
    • 80 – 10 inch squares (2 layer cakes or 5 3/4 yards)
    • 320  – 3 inch squares (1 42-square layer cake or 3 yards)
